Much of the work of the Board is done in standing subcommittees.  The subcommittees focus in on the details of mental health programs in Sacramento.  One of the responsibilities of the Board is to define goals and priorities each year.  In addition, the Board sometimes joins together with consumers, family members, providers and the Division of Mental Health to work on special problems facing the mental health system.
