Accessibility

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is committed to serving the people of Sacramento County by providing equal access to this Web site. The Web designers and programmers at DHHS work to reduce or eliminate the barriers that prevent our site from being accessible to all Sacramento County residents, including those with disabilities. The features built into this site are in compliance with Section 508 and Priority One accessibility standards. Some of the key design elements used by DHHS to create an accessible site include:

  • Provide a text only version of this site which includes no frames.
  • Provide alternative text for non-text elements, such as photographs, graphic images, and animations.
  • Provide a way for users to skip repetitive navigation links.
  • Provide client-side image maps rather than server-side image maps.
  • Avoid the use of flickering screen items.
  • Organize Web pages so that they may be read without the use of style sheets.
  • Ensure that pages are usable when scripts, applets or other programmatic objects are turned off or not supported.
The Department of Health and Human Services website includes hyperlinks to other sites on the Internet World Wide Web (WWW). DHHS is not responsible for the accessibility of other sites accessed through the hyperlinks contained on these pages. If you have questions or comments about the accessibility of this Web site, please contact the DHHS Webmaster.
