Mission Statement
The mission of the Alcohol and Drug Services Division is to promote a healthy community and reduce the harmful effects associated with alcohol and drug use, while remaining responsive to, and reflective of the diversity among individuals, families and communities.

The Alcohol and Drug Services Division Advisory Board
Comprised of 20 public and technical members, the Board advises the Board of Supervisors, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Alcohol and Drug Services Division and other county departments of alcohol and drug issues. This includes the planning, coordination, and delivery of alcohol and drug prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m., at the Primary Care Center, 4600 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95820. Members of the community are encouraged to attend.

Changing the Landscape
Changing the Landscape is a study of alcohol and other drug (AOD) abuse in Sacramento County by the Public Health and Alcohol and Drug Advisory Boards. It was presented to the County Board of Supervisors and details AOD problems in the County. The report includes findings and recommendations to further address the AOD issue here. Monitoring and Program Oversight
The Division provides monitoring and program oversight activities for community-based alcohol and drug service providers in Sacramento County, which receive state or federal funding. Assessment and Treatment Referral
To access a publicly funded treatment slot, prospective participants can be assessed on a drop-in basis at 4875 Broadway, Sacramento, CA 95820 between the hours of 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is strongly suggested to arrive at 8:00 a.m. for the morning session, and arrive at 12:30 p.m. for the afternoon session. The System of Care staff are:

Assessment, short-term counseling and group services are available. Professional counselors provide services at schools and neighborhood centers. These services are provided in conjunction with other services such as Child Welfare, Mental Health, Probation, Vocational and Financial Assistance. Spanish speaking services are available.

Options for Recovery
A full continuum of services is available to pregnant and parenting women through collaboration among Division staff and community-based organizations. Services include case management, outpatient treatment, intensive day treatment, residential treatment, and transitional housing.

CalWORKs
The CalWORKs program is a collaboration between the Alcohol and Drug Services and Mental Health Divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Human Assistance. Services are provided to individuals who have alcohol or other drug, mental health or domestic violence issues that are a barrier to employment. A full continuum of alcohol or other drug services are available: outreach, case management, outpatient counseling, day treatment, residential, detoxfication and transitional living.

The Division provides funding and oversight of HIV-related services providing HIV testing, pre and post HIV test counseling, primary health, and alcohol and other drug treatment services at sites throughout Sacramento County.

Training
The Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Initiative (AODTI) is a nationally acclaimed training program providing training on substrance abuse, assessment, intervention, and treatment to professionals in and out of the addiction field. In addition, training is available for staff in of Health and Human Services and Criminal Justice agencies.
