Mother and child reading togetherOptions for Recovery is an alcohol and other drug treatment program for pregnant or parenting women. The program has been offering detoxification, outpatient, residential, and transitional living services to the women and children of Sacramento County since 1990.

The goals of the program are to reduce the effects of alcohol and other drug use on the family by providing drug education, peer support, community resource referrals and follow-up.

Services are provided at three locations within Sacramento. These services focus on assessment, individual and group counseling, parenting education, relapse prevention, and improving life skills.

Staff consist of alcohol and drug abuse counselors, child care teachers and workers, and mental health professionals.
