CalWORKS Counseling Services

CalWORKs participants with mental health or domestic abuse issues which prevent successful employment, can receive free and confidential counseling services as part of their Welfare to Work plan.  CalWORKs Counseling Services include counseling and support groups and individual counseling.  Group sessions are held at local Department of Human Assistance (DHA) sites.  Group sessions address issues such as depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, life transitions, and parenting skills.  Individual counseling sessions are also available. Alcohol and Drug Treatment services are also available to CalWORKs participants through the Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Division.  To receive counseling services or more information, you can contact your CalWORKs worker or a counselor at any of the following Department of Human Assistance offices:
