Who we are:
The STD Community Intervention Program (SCIP) is a State and County program working to help improve the health of youth and young adults by providing:
*referrals *resources *skill-building *improved program plans
Highlights from our assessment of 95 youth projects:

9 projects have comprehensive youth programs that educate on topics of self-esteem, decision-making, job preparation, sports and recreation, gang violence and alcohol & drugs. These broad projects are valuable resources for youth!

26 projects educate youth on alcohol and drugs as well as STDs, 21 projects discuss alcohol and drugs but do not cover STDs or HIV, and 19 projects discuss STDs / HIV but do not cover alcohol and drugs.

28 projects make use of mentoring and 36 projects utilize risk reduction education as ways to educate and work with their youth population.
