Staff/Clerical Assistance

In-Home Supportive Services Program has openings for clerical volunteers to assist with a number of duties in support of programs and servcies, including filing, sorting, photocopying, distributing mail, data entry, maintaining program packets and brochures, assisting social workers with filing documents and volumizing case files, and assisting with special events. Computer experience is helpful but not a requirement. Two office locations at Rancho Cordova area. Flexible schedule with a minimum of 8 hours per week commitment during 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A great opportunity for people who are interested in learning more about In-Home Supportive Services and the people we serve.

Senior Companions/Home Visitors

Adult Protective Services (APS) and In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) have many isolated elderly clients who can benefit from volunteer companions. Volunteer companions spend an average of 2-4 hours a day, once a week, with each client referred by APS or IHSS social worker. The visit can be a combination of socialization, recreation activities, reviewing mail, help with coordinating appointments and some transporting of clients. Elderly clients thoroughly enjoy the companionship provided by volunteers. Volunteers also serve as gate-keepers on these vulnerable elderly clients. Position requires a 6 months commitment. Locations and hours are flexible during Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
