The public information line provides information regarding West Nile Virus, SARS, Smallpox, Anthrax, Influenza and Meningitis.  Information regarding all six diseases is communicated in both English and Spanish.  West Nile Virus is also communicated in Russian, Vietnamese, Hindu, Cantonese, Hmong and Mien.  In addition to English and Spanish, SARS is communicated in Mandarin, Hmong, Mien and Vietnamese.  Callers can learn about the description of the diseases, symptoms, who is at risk and when to consult a physician.  To access the public information line, please call (916) 874-2000 or toll-free (866) 319-2001, which is accessible by area codes 916, 707, 209 and 530.
